Aim of the work:
1. Reviewing the literature on the genus Zygophyllum.
2. Identification, collection and drying of the aerial parts of Zygophyllum simplex L.
3. Preliminary phytochemical screening of the aerial parts of the plant.
4. Extraction of the aerial parts of the plant.
5. Fractionation of total extract using several chemical solvents.

7. Identification of secondary metabolites in different fractions by GC-MS
8. Isolation of different active constituents using different chromatographic techniques.
9. Structure elucidation of compounds using chemical, physical and spectroscopic techniques.
