Abstract This study was planned to throw the light on the incidence of S. aureus in meat and meat products (luncheon, burger, minced meat and sausage) (50 of each) 250 samples were collected randomly from different butchers in Port-said city. These samples were subjected to bacteriological examination for isolation and identification of S. aureus. The obtained result revealed that 33 isolates from 250 samples were Staphylococcus aureus. with overall percentage 22%. The percentage of S. aureus which isolated from meat, luncheon, burger, minced meat and sausage were 14%, 20%, 30%, 34% and 12% respectively. All isolated strains were identified as S. aureus by using Specific culture media and biochemical tests. |
