Abstract

The researcher investigates the effects of using multimedia on enriching vocabulary of third-year prep school students. In order to address this issue, the researcher used many instruments to get the required data which were a diagnostic test and a checklist of some vocabulary use sub – skills. These instruments paved the way for the researcher to determine the most needed sub – skills that should be included in the other instruments. The checklist was needed to specify the most suitable sub – skills. Other instruments were also required which were multimedia activities and a pre-posttest. A vocabulary pre-posttest was administered to evaluate the effect of using multimedia on enriching vocabulary of third year prep students. Forty (40) EFL learners were selected from Banat bosh prep school for girls at Nasser Educational Administration in Beni Suef to represent the experimental group. Findings showed that there are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental group in pre and post measurements of the vocabulary use skills in favor of the post measurement. Results also showed that there are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental group in pre and post measurements of the vocabulary use skills as a whole in favor of the post measurement. In the light of the findings, the researcher provided some pedagogical implications and recommendations for EFL teachers. The researcher also presented some suggestions for further studies.
