Abstract The danger to public health from lead in the environment continues to be a matter of concern, for subtle effects of the element on intelligence quotient and blood pressure have potentially widespread significance. Acute intoxication occurs sporadically, and when it does, the source of lead is commonly in the household . Lead (Pb) is common toxic heavy metals in the environment. The general public is exposed to Pb through the ambient air, drinking water, food, industrial materials and consumer products .So, this study was conducted to study the effect of different calcium sources on the high doses of lead added to the rat meal and its effect on the internal functions of the body. Forty adult male albino rats, Sprague Dawler Strain, weighting (150± 10g) were used. The animals were derived from Medical Research Institute of Opthalmalogy, Medical Analysis Department, Dokki, Giza, Egypt. Rats were kept in cylindrical wire cages with wire bottoms. The diet was introduced in special food cups to avoid scattering of food. Feed the mice with high doses of lead. Study the effect of addition of calcium at different levels for the meal of mice. lead was induces in normal healthy male albino rats by intra-peritoneal of lead 0.7 % of the body weight . Rats are divided into 8 groups, each group which consists of 5 rats as follows: group (1): Rats were fed on basal diet as a negative control group. group (2): Rats were fed on basal diet and received a dose of 0.7 % / kg of body weight as a positive control group. group (3): Rats were fed on basal diet with 0.5% calcium chloride and received a dose of 0.7 % / kg of body weight. |
