Abstract The study of CPs has attracted much interest owing to their novel properties and processes which can be achieved. The present study involves preparation of poly(bis-m-phenylenediaminosulphoxide) (PPDS) as a novel conducting polymer and its cupper complex. It also contains the formation of composite 1 and 2 through the physical doping with iodine. All the prepared materials are characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, 1H-NMR, TGA, UV-vis absorbance, fluorescence emission, magnetic and electrical properties at different temperature intervals. Chapter 1, contains introduction about importance, applications, discovery and structure chemistry of conducting polymers. Chapter 2, involves experimental data and techniques of the preparation of poly(bis-m-phenylenediaminosulphoxide) (PPDS) and its cupper complex. It also contains the formation of composites 1 and 2 through physical doping with iodine. In addition, it illustrate the preparation of samples and apparatus used for characterization of polymer and polymer complex. Chapter 3, include on the results and discussion abstracted from this study. |
