Abstract chemical processing plants, and electric utilities all rely on the cooling water system to do its job. The following four problems are normally associated with cooling water systems. Corrosion, scale, fouling, biological contamination, which reduced heat transfer efficiency and therefore reduced energy efficiency of the process being cooled . This work discusses this problems and method of dissolving . This work contains three basic chapters Chapter one: “INTRODUCTION“ This chapter discusses the principles of acid cleaning of the metals, types of inhibitors, Literature survey of carbon steel corrosion, chemical cleaning, Biofilm and corrosion, and aim of this study Chapter two: ” EXPERIMENTAL AND TECHNIQUES” It includes the chemical composition of the investigated material, preparation of the used sulfuric acid solution, the used distyryl derivatives, solutions and procedures used for the corrosion measurements such as a weight loss and electrochemical techniques, collecting bacteria from cooling tower and culturing method . Chapter three: ”RESULTS AND DISCUSSION” It deals with the results obtained and their discussion and this chapter is divided into five sections. |
