Women were devided into three groups. group A underwent immediate post surgical abortion IUCD insertion. group B underwent immediate post medical abortion IUCD insertion. group C, control group, with IUCD inserted postmenstrual. All patients were followed up for 6 months with 3 visits at the 1st week ,the 4th week and the 6th month.
After 6 months follow up expulsion rate was 3.2%, 4.2% and 2.04% in group A, B and C respectively. Degree of satisfaction was 61.3%, 65.3% and 67.3% in group A, B and C respectively. IUCD removal was 17.2% ,14.7% and 10.2% in group A, B and C respectively. And all the differences were not significant.
