Abstract Purpose of study: This study aims to evaluate the role transarterial chemoembolization and bland embolization in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. Patients and methods: Twenty patients having hepatocellular carcinoma will be subjected to chemoembolization and twenty patients will be subjected to bland embolization, follow up by triphasic CT will be done one month later to detect the viability of the tumor. Results: These results show that both transarterial chemoembolization and bland embolization are effective in treatment of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma with higher survival rates than best supportive care. |
