Abstract The objective of this randomized controlled trial was to test the effect of endometrial injury on pregnancy rate on day (18-26) of spontaneous menstrual cycle in women with infertility aged between 20-35 years. An endometrial biopsy induced injury could produce a local inflammatory reactions and angiogenic environment between the endometrium and the conceptus which, in turn, facilitates embryo implantation and subsequent pregnancy in earlier studies. The study was conducted at the infertility out-patient clinic of menoufia University Hospital. In this randomized controlled study, 100 subjects were enrolled in the trial and all of them completed the study, they divided into 2 groups Control group (simple induction) and Study group (Pipelle group): group (1) (Pipelle group), (Clomid resistant) received endometrial injury on day 18-26 by Pipelle before induction cycles by Clomid. group (2) (control group) patients received Clomid only for induction of ovulation. All patients were followed for three cycles for incidence of pregnancy. In group (1) a single induced endometrial injury at the luteal phase on day (18-26) of the cycle was done by using Pipelle followed by induction of ovulation by Clomid for three cycles. In group (2) patients had induction of ovulation with Clomid and were followed for three cycles also. |
