Abstract
Aim of the work: The aim of the work was to study the relationship between serum Fetuin-A and insulin resistance in patients with hyperthyroidism. Subjects and Methods: The study was carried out on 35 newly diagnosed patients with hyperthyroidism (group I) and 20 healthy individuals of matched age and sex as controls (group II). Laboratory investigations were done before hyperthyroidism treatment was initiated and were re-evaluated again after euthyroidism was achieved. All patients in this study were subjected to: a- Full history taking. b- Full clinical examination. c-Laboratory investigations Fasting blood glucose Fasting insulin. High sensitivity -CRP. Free T3, free T4, and TSH.Total serum calcium. Serum fetuin-A by ELISa.
