Abstract According to the current world needs to improve the road network traffic that affects our life, there are several solutions which depend mainly on mobile communication, radar, and satellite communication systems. In case of earthquake disaster or during road traffic crises, a fast solution is needed to ensure safe evacuation from the areas afflicted. Therefore, there should be a solution map to guarantee smooth traffic motion at all times. Since those traditional solutions do not solve the day-to-day road traffic problems, we suggested modeling road network traffic using the data communication network traffic, which have several modeling theories that achieve powerful results in different fields. This modeling allows the usage of data network solutions to achieve high-performance outcomes and reduce congestion in the road network domain. Recently, there was a high-developing rate of data network techniques and protocols. This thesis provides mapping between the road and data network parameters based on the operation and effect of those parameters. Theoretical expectations were validated by simulating selected mapped data network entities, and the results were compared to those of the road traffic analysis to prove the mapping concept. |
