Abstract The general conclusions extracted from this research work can be classified according to the following objectives: 1- Studying the performance of concrete/mortar made of various blended cements. 2- Evaluating the efficiency of the different accelerated corrosion techniques, investigated in this research work, for the studied types of cements. 7.1.1 Performance of concrete/mortar made of various blended cements. The following aspects are considered for extracting the relevant conclusions: a) Physical properties b) Mechanical properties c) Durability characteristics d) Corrosion protection a) Physical properties 1) Using Micro Silica (MS) as a partial replacement of Portland cement had no remarkable effect on the setting time of cement. On the other hand, the initial and final setting times were increased with increasing Fly Ash (FA) content up to 22%. 2) Using pozzolanic materials as partial replacement of Portland cement in cement based materials had no undesirable expansion based on Le Chatelier expansion test method. |
