Abstract

A total number of 200 marine fishes were represented as 100 Elsarah (Nemipterus japonicas ) ,each about 35g±4 and 100 Mias (Pomatomus saltatrix L.) each about 100g±6 . They were collected from Suez and Ismailia provinces.
The results are summarized as follow:
1. The main clinical signs revealed no pathognomonic clinical signs or abnormalities on the external body surface except slight unilateral protrusion of the operculum (gill cover) revealing a small slit.
2. The postmortem findings were manifested as the gills were hyperemic with increase of mucus on the gills .Also ,erosion of the gill filaments and adhesion of gill filaments at site of attachment. After examining inside the gill cavity , there was only one isopoda lodging in the gill cavity in all infested fishes.
3. The crustacean parasites that found in Nemipterus japonicus could be identified as these parasites are belonged to order Isopoda , suborder Flabellifera , family Cymothoidae , suborder Anilocridae genus Irona , spp Irona nanodies which is creamy in color with seven equal pairs of legs . The crustacean parasites that found in Pomatomus saltatrix L. could be identified as these parasites are belonged to order Isopoda , suborder Flabellifera , family Cymothoidae , genus Lironeca. Lironeca Ovalis sp . They are segmented , large , grayish in colour and the small head was deeply embedded in the first segment of peraeon with two well developed black eyes.
4. The total prevalence was 50% and the highest prevalence
