Abstract An apparatus for the simultaneous measurement of the thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity and volumetric speci- fic heat, of the electrically non conducting liquide at atmos- pheric pressure, was constructed. This apparatus, based upon the A.C. hot wire technique, has the advantage that tho tempora- ture oscillations are confined in x vary thin layer adjacent to the sensor. So, the convection hest transport can telini- nated. Carrying out the uasurements at different frequencies, the inortin of the sensor can be considered and the radiative part of the heat transport can be evaluated for liquids with known optical properties. The nporatus was enlibrated using distilled water. It was then used for the nonsureront of the mentioned thermal properties of several pure organic liquide; benzene, ethanol, glycerol, corbontotrachloride and toluene which is recommended as a proposed thursal conductitity standard (41) at a limited tomperature range. Good agreement was found between our data, for the thermophysical properties of the investigated liquids, with. |
