المستخلص Early childhood is one of the most important stages of human development; where the child begins to realize the social environment, develop social interaction skills and communicate with others. Hence, any handicap occurs for the child at this stage would affect, to a large extent, all developmental aspects of the child. autism is considered one of those disorders that occurs in early childhood (The first three years of the child’s age). Autism is a disorder with pervasive impact on all aspects of growth, where autistic child has an obvious deficit in social interaction skill, relationships with peers, and verbal and non-verbal communication skills, in addition to many behavior disorders such as stereotypical behavior and self- harm behavior. Autism is one of the pervasive developmental disorders that includes beside autism, Asperger syndrome, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, and pervasive developmental disorder – not other specified (NOS). Autistic children are those who suffer from an obvious deficit of social interaction skills, both verbal and non-verbal communication skills, showing severe limitation in activities and interests, in addition to behavior disorders such as stereotypical behavior and self- harm behavior. Those behaviors reflect a deficiency in sensory integration, as these symptoms may occur before the third year of child’s age. |
