Abstract

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION
This experiment was designed to evaluate the use of
egg yolk immunoglobulin as alternative to some vaccinations
in broiler chicks. Fife hundred one day Hubbard and Cobb
broiler chicks were divided in four experimental groups with:
control group of Hubbared and treatment 1injected egg yolk
containing immunoglobulin against IBDV + NDV, Cobb
control and group 2 injected egg yolk containing
immunoglobulin against IBDV + NDV.
The main results could be summarized as follows:
At marketing age there was no significant difference
among treated groups for body weight at one-week old. It
was concluded that the marketing weight (6wk) of Cobb
broiler chicks was significantly heavier than that of Hubbard
ones. The results in corresponding table were 1966.12 and
1910.66g for Cobb and Hubbard broiler chick, respectably.
• During the period from the 3rd and 5th weeks of age the
results showed that the treated groups injected with
egg yolk immunoglobulin agents IBDV + NDV were significantly heaviest than that of control group.
• It could be observed that the egg yolk containing
immunoglobulin against NDV or IBDV + NDV
significantly decreased the relative inedible meat parts
compared to remaining groups.
• from 28 to 42 days of age, it could be noticed that the
Cobb broiler chicks were significantly consumed less
feed compared to the remaining groups. The mean
feed consumptions of Cobb control and IBDV+NDV
group for mentioned experimental period (14-42 day)
were only 3378.2, 3332.3 , 3255.4 and 3188.4 g of that
consumed by Hubbard control and IBDV+NDV group
broiler chicks respectively.
• The IBDV + NDV group of Cobb strain was significantly
higher relative body weight compared to other group
(IBDV + NDV Hubbared). Concerning feather
percentage, it could be noticed that the IBDV + NDV
group recorded the lowest values 6.82 % compared to remaining control groups and another treatment.
• Our results showed that the broiler chicks (Cobb and
Hubbared) injected by egg yolk containing
immunoglobulin against IBDV+NDV. Recorded higher
dressing percentage values compared to other groups.
• There was no significant difference among treated
groups for relative gizzard weight. Conversely, the
relative heart weight was significantly affected by treatment, where the broiler chicks injected by egg yolk
containing immunoglobulin against NDV or IBDV + NDV
were significantly higher relative heart weightcompared to other groups.
• It could be noticed that the broiler chicks injected egg
yolk containing immunoglobulin against IBDV+ NDV
and combination recorded the highest hemoglobin and
Hematocrit level compared to control group of hubbared .With respect to changes in lymphoid organs weight, the
present results showed that the relative bursa weight
was significantly decreased in groups injected with IgY
against IBDV or IBDV + NDV compared to controlgroup.
• The absolute and relative spleen weight didn’t
significantly affected by treatment. Opposite trend was
noticed for thymus weight, whereas the birds injected
with IgY against IBDV or NDV had significantly higher
relative thymus weight compared to other groups.
• The present result in fig. 21 indicated that the Hubbard
broiler chicks control had significantly lowest mortality
number compared to all groups broiler chicks. However, the Cobb broiler control and treatment
(IBD+NDB) Hubbared chicks were intermediate.
• The present results indicated thahe antibody titer
measured at 21 and 35 days of age against IBD+ NDV
for cobb control was significantly highest than those of
other groups. However, at 35 days of age, the
hubbared control was significantly lowest antibody titer
against IBD+NDV compared to control and tread.
• At 35 days of age, our result showed that the control
group recorded the highest antibody titer against
IBD+NDV compared to remaining groups. The same
trend was not observed at 35 days of age
