Abstract Lead and its compounds are systemic toxicants, with a wide range of adverse health effects which were observed in exposed workers. Lead potentially induces oxidative stress which leads to oxidative damage to many orange as general, hematological, gastrointestinal, hepatic, reproductive, renal, cardiovascular, neuropsychiatric, bone, pulmonary, endocrine, dental caries, central and peripheral nervous, and carcinogenic disorders. This work threw light on the role of nerve conduction in diagnosis of neuropathies in chronic occupational lead exposure. This study was carried out on sixty male individuals. Fifty workers of them were chronically occupational exposed to lead collected from workshops in Elghayrbia and elbehera governorates. They are automechanics, sixteen aer welders, sixteen are battery recycles and chargers, and eighteen are car painters. Ten male volunteers serves as control group. |
