Abstract
The study aimed to analyze the impact of the merger between the insurance companies of the public sector on the investment portfolio for the merged companies, so the study relied on a simple methods represented in the rate of return on investment and one of the methods dual- represented in the Sharpe model, in addition to the previous aims, the study aimed to evaluate the investment performance of the insurance companies of the public sector after the merger in accordance with the rates specified in the law No. 118 for the year 2008, depending on the test T-Test.
The study came out a set of results that indicate a lack of objective and technical reasonsfor merger process which has occurred among the insurance companies of the public sector; since the merger led to the low efficiency of the investment portfolio in those Insurance companies.
