Abstract The misuse of antibiotic and lack of respect to withdrawal time result in presence of antibiotic residues in meat which consider a major problem facing hygienists so prevention of residues in meat is a priority of the public health authorities. So the present study was performed to determine the presence of antibiotic residues in local liver samples and imported frozen liver samples. *Incidence of antibiotic residues in local and frozen livers: One Hundred local liver samples were examined microbiologically for antibiotic residues, 5 local liver samples (5%) react positively with inhibition zone more than 2mm. All Twenty examined Imported frozen liver samples were free from antibiotic residues. * Detection of oxytetracycline residues by HPLC: Oxytetracycline residues were found in local liver samples of large animals exceed permissiple limit . |
