Abstract
This thesis is a theoretical study concernng with the improvement of the performance of optical fibers a single mode gaussian profile optical fiberis considered its quality of functioning is controlled by the physical properties of the glass of the fiber corew the cladding and the coting materials the objective of this study is to elect the best physical paraments which result in a high quaality performance. the minimization of the chromatic dispersion over a broad wavelength bnd in hich the attenuation is low for pure silica. the miniization is obtained at a certain values of the physical parameters of the glass fiber.
