Abstract
onion ,(Allium cepa L.) is one of the main improtant and oldest vegetable crops grown in Egypt. The Egyption onion is famous allover the world for superior quality and early appearance in European markets. Purple blotch disease is one of the most serious diseases that widespread in Egypt and many parts of the world, restricted to Allium spp. The disease is more severe on seed crop yield causing sometimes 100% loosing of the seed production.
