Abstract Micronutrients are gaining importance in crop nutrition because of increased demand from high yielding crops, intensive cropping, expansion of cropping in marginal lands, increased use of high analysis fertilizers containing low levels of micronutrients, decreased use of manures, composts and crop residues leading to mining of micronutrient reserves and nutrient imbalances in soils. Organic manures may serve as a source of micronutrients also their decomposition products give rise to natural complexing agents which mobilize the native micronutrients already present in soil through chelation. Recently the enrichment of organic manures with inorganic fertilizers particularly micronutrients to increase their use efficiency is in practice. the enrichment of organic manures with plant nutrients. |
