Abstract The diagnosis of the pulmonary embolism remains a major problem because of variable non specific symptoms, imaging is required to establish the diagnosis . The advent of the chest CT scanning for the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism was hailed as an improvement ever before recent studies were undertaken .By 2001 CT scanning was been used more often than lung scanning to investigate suspected pulmonary embolism. CT has become an attractive means for a safe, highly accurate, cost-effective diagnosis of acute PE and provides alternative diagnosis and explanations for symptoms in the absence of PE. There are now multiple generations of CT scanners. |
