Abstract
Conclusion:
We conclude from our work there is no inter-relationship among insulin
resistance, lipid profile and thyroid function. However, there was
dyslipidemia which was worse in the insulin resistance group.
Also thyroid dysfunction is present among type 2 diabetic patients and
this dysfunction is in the form of subclinical hypothyroidism more than
other dysfunctions.
Limitations:
The number of NIR subjects was not sufficient to obtain accurate
statistical data.
High cost of the investigations.
Lipid profile is affected by many factors like diet, obesity, lifestyle
and physical activity…… etc.
