Abstract The story of peptic ulcer the last 200 years has been one of perfound changes in frequency and clinical presentation. in 1857, Brinton described gastric ulcer as a diseases of young women : doodenal ulcer seemed to be rare. in the beginning of the 20th century however the prevalence of duodenal ulcer increased to several times that of gastric ulcer before syarting to fall in the second half of the century. perforated peptic ulcer is a common surguical emergency and a major cause in eldery patients, Duodenal ulcer peroration is a serious complication that occurs in5-10% of case.
