Abstract Radiation necrosis following radiation therapy for brain tumor is not uncommon with the conventional MR images optained in these patients demonstrate a variety of radiation-induced brain injury. Developing new contrast-enhancing lesions in these patients raises the clinical question ”recurrent tumor versus radiation injury” Both entities lead to abnormal enhancement and/or surrounding edema in or near the primary site of tumor and are difficult to distinguish.Increaing the complexity is the fact that both entities might be present altogether .the need for futher proper therapeutic measures is a plausible rationale for differentiation. |
