Abstract A total number of 90 rabbits showing sneezing and nasal discharge were bacteriologically examined as field cases. Pasteurella multocida was isolated in a mixed culture from 40 rabbits out of them. Twelve rabbits out of the later cases were only taken for further haematological, biochemical and histopathological examinations. Clinical examination of these naturally infected rabbits revealed sneezing, nasal discharge, rough fur, labored breathing and in some cases nervous symptoms. Haematological examination of natural infected rabbits along 2 1 days after appearance of symptoms revealed normocytic normochromic anemia followed by microcytic hypochromic anemia accompanied with thrombocytosis then thrombocytopenia. Biochemical analysis in liver function of natural infected rabbits showedincrease in AL T, AST, globulin, total bilirubin and direct bilirubin, and decrease in albumin, glucose and A/G ratio. The renal functions tests showed increase in BUN, creatinine, uric acid and inorganic phosphorus and decrease in calcium level. !Os |
