Abstract This investigation was carried out ouBalady ad Valencia oranges and Balady mandarin over a period of two successive years during 1973/1974 and 1974/1975 seasons in the Faculty of Agriculture at Assiut University where the soil is fertile loamy clay and. the depth of water table ranges over two meters. This experiment was arranged as factorial in randomized ooniplete blocks design with three replications to study the ohanges in some physioal and chemical charaoteristics of Balady and Valencic oranges an. Balady mandarin fruits during storage at room temperature cxid 40°F with 90% relative humidity. Four different wrapping treatments were used for both room temperature aaicl oold storage as follows. 1— Without wrapping (control). 2— Wrapping with diphenylamine treated. paper. 3— Wrapping with untreated paper. 4— Perforated polyethylene bags. i1 t” Representative samples were token at random every two weeks during storage period in both 1973/1974 and 1974/1975 seasons for physical and chemica]. determinations until the percentage of fruit decay reached 40%. |
