Abstract investigate the clinical signs, postmortem lesions, parasitological, hematological and physiological parameters. Therefore, 400 alive catfish C. gariepinus were randomly collected from different water ecosystems and private fish farms in Ismailia governorate during the period between March 2003 and April 2005. The clinical sings and the postmortem examinations revealed respiratory manifestation, sluggish swimming, loss of appetite, congestion on gills and presence of cyst like structures on the gill filaments and the dendretic organs. The parasitological examination revealed great numbers of spores in the milky fluid inside the cyst like structures and was identified as Henneguya braThis study aimed to isolate and identify the gill parasites in naturally infested catfish Clarias gariepinus, and to nchialis. Results revealed that 17.5% of the examined fish were infested with Henneguyosis and the highest rate of infestation was in spring season. The hematological analysis showed significant reduction in RBCs count, Hb value, PCV, MCH and MCHC, while WBCs count, MCV recorded significant increase in the infested fish. Serum protein analysis revealed significant decrease in total serum protein, albumin level and A/G ratio while significant increase was occurred in globulin value in the infested catfish, Also results of Na+-K+ATPase activity revealed 24.4% inhibition ratio in the enzyme activity in the infested group. |
