Abstract

The current work was conducted to study the possibility of feeding diets containing different levels of crude fiber (3.5, 5.0, 6.5, and 8.0%) in mash or pelleted form supplemented with or without enzymes on the performance, carcass traits, meat chemical composition and blood biochemistry of broilers during a rearing period from 21-49 days of age.
A total number of 320 one day old of mixed Hubbard chicks were randomly allotted into 16 groups, each of 20 chicks. In the starting period (0-3 weeks), a commercial iso caloric–iso nitrogenous mash and pelleted diets of the same feed ingredients were fed for all 16 experimental groups. Diets were contained 23% crude protein and 3200 kcal/kg metabolizable energy as recommended by NRC (1994) for this age. The practical vegetable-based experimental diets (mash or pellets) were formulated to satisfy the nutrient requirements recommended by NRC (1994) for the rest of the experiment period from 4 to 7 weeks of age. The pellet and mash feeds were formulated from the same stock
