Abstract The present work was carried out in agricultural experimental station of Etay El-barod, Elbeheira governorate to evaluate the efficiency of prometryne as pre-emergence and metribuzin as postemergence on weed control and their phytotoxicity on lentil cultivations and determination of these herbicide the residues in soil. Also, the estimation of carbohydrates and protein contents in lentil grain was also studied. As general trend, the obtained used three rates of each herbicides(half, complete and double recommended were tested. Results showed that fresh and dry weights of dominated weeds were decreased. The results recorded to weed control percentage was increased by using the two tested herbicides compared with control. The results indicated that lentil plant height, fresh and dry weights were increased with prometryne treatments compared with control while metribuzin treatments were decreasing. Also, the yield productivity was increased with prometryne herbicides, while metribuzin treatments caused the reverse effect compared with control. The results of carbohydrates and protein contents showed increasing in all rates of herbicides applications. Results revealed that increasing of photosynthetic pigments(chl.a, chl.b and carotene) at 45 days after treatment by prometryne pre-emergence. On the other hand, metribuzin post-emergence treatments caused in general decreasing in photosynthetic pigments (chl.a, chl.b and carotene), but in small ratios compared effects with control. The obtained results showed the detection of prometryne and metribuzin residues in soil cultivated with lentil. All the residues of prometryne and metribuzin were disappeared in samples before and after harvest of lentil plants. |
