Abstract SUMMARY - Bacteriological examination revealed the isolation of 580 E.COII isoaltes which were serologicaly typed as 073 (305 isolates), 125 (230 isoaltes) and untypable isoaltes (45 isoaltes). - A formalinized oil adjuvant bivalent bacterin was prepared and evaluated in a meat type parent flock. The vaccine protected chickens from transiant DROP in egg production and increased the hatchabiity rate. Hatched baby chicks showed high titre of agglutinating antibodies and was protected from challeng till the 2 weeks of age. Revaccination of day old chicks proved that vaccination of baby chicks originating from vaccinated dams gave the best rate of protection followed by vaccinated chicks originating from non vaccinated dams. |
