Abstract The drugs selected for the analysis, through complex forming reactions are, norfioxacin. mequitazine, penicillarnine, captopril, betahistine. hvdralazine. isoniazid, timonacic and azintamide. The dissertation consists of nine chapters. Chapter I This chapter includes a general introduction of the investigated drugs concerning their chemical formulas, molecular weights, sol ubi 1 ities, pharmacological actions, uses, the analyzed pharmaceutical preparations and their literature review. Chapter II In this chapter, simple spectrophotometric methods for the determination of timonacic are presented. The procedures are based on the chelate formation with either palladium(II) or copper(II) in buffered media. The optimum conditions for the complex formation were ascertained and the method was developed for the determination of timonacic in the concentration range of 28 -48 tg mF1 and 1.2 -3.5 rng mnf. The empirical formulas of the formed complexes were determined spectrophoto-metricallv, by applying Job’s method, mole-ratio method. slope-ratio method and Asmus method. The results indicated the formation of one type of complex with stoichiotnetric ratio 2 : I for timonacic-palladium chelate and the formation of two types of complexes with ratio 1:1 and 2:1 for timonacic-copper chelate. The conditional stability constant of the formed water soluble complexes was calculated using Job’s method. slope ratio method, Asmus method and Nash’s method. The proposed methods were found to be suitable for the determination of timonacic in bulk and in its pharmaceutical tablets. |
