Abstract First Part A computer program was developed to study the effect of the rate of gas evolution at a oorroding metallic surface on the rate of mass transfer. A detailed description is given inohapter 2, of the required relations between the mass transfer coeffioient and the oxygen discharge rate under different conditions of electrode geometry, position and aoid concentration for the anodic dissolution of copper in phosphoric acid. The program is written in FORTRAN and was run on PUP - 11. A part of this work was presented in the 14th ~uropean symposium on oomputerized control and operation of chemical plant, -september, 8 - 11, 1981 Laxenburg” Austria.Seoond Part :In oomplex ocesses the substanoes undergo a series of step-wise chaDges, each contributing a reaotion in its own right. The over all ,mechanism is then made up of contributions from all such reactions. Chem.1cal kinetics often provides the only feasible approaoh towards unraveling of the reaction mechanism. Many, industrially important systems involve complex. |
