Abstract
In multicellular organisms, diverse kinds of cells serve specialized functions. Certain features are common to all eukaryotic cells. All possess a cell membrane, a nucleus and cytoplasm containing cellular organelles and soluble proteins essential to the biochemical and physiologic functions of the cell among the largest cytoplasmic structures are the mitochondria.
