المستخلص The present study included 150 paliems with 159 healed femoral shaft fractures. The age incidence in this situdy ranged from 16-70 years with a mean of 41- 12 years. Males were affected in 78 7% of the ease*;. The sides affected were nearly equal The mechanism of injury was mainly road traffic accidents (pedestrains) in 60 % of cases and falls from heights in 21.3% of cases.The ipsilatenil knees of all cases were examined clinically and radiologic ally and careful history was taken, lather examinations under ancasthesia and stress radiography were done for suspected eases.The AO/ASTF classification of femoral shaft fractures fa2 and Kennedy classification of knee usabilities A] were adopted to correlate the type and level of fracture wilh the type of knee instability.The cases were then divided into four groups. Group A. no complaint and clinically negative. Group B no complaint and clinically positive. Group C. complaining mid clinicallv negative.Group D: complaining and clinicallv positive . |
