Abstract the aim of the present work is to estimate the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor beta-1 transient cerebral ischaemia and aslo to correlate the levels of both VEGF and TGF-B1 with each other and with the neurological caused by cerebral ischaemia. Cerebal ischaemia results from exposure of the brain to focal or global deprivation of its blood supply. Regardless of the mechanisms involved in the induction of ischaemia, the parenchymal and vascular structures of the brain are damaged at varying degrees related to both the severity and duration of ischaemia and the unfavorable effects of reperfusion. |
