Abstract This work aimed to determine DNA ploidy and S-phase fraction in acute lymphoblastic leukemia using flow cytometry, also correlation between these parameters was interpreted with F AB classification, immunophenotyping, response to chemotherapy and other important prognostic factors. The study was done on twenty patients with de novo ALL. They were classified according to F AB classification into LI, which comprised 10 patients, 8 males and 2 females with age ranged from 2 to 16 years, L2 which comprised 7 patients, 2 males and 5 females with age ranged from 1.5 to 23 years and L3, which comprised 3 patients all of them males with age ranged from 1 to 43 years. The patients also classified into four groups according to immunophenotyping, common ALL, which comprised 10 patients, 8 males and 2 females with age ranged from 2 to 16 of LI, pre B-ALL, which comprised 3 females with age ranged from 18 to 21 of L2, B-ALL which comprised 3 patients, all of them males and of’L, with age ranged between 1 to 43 years and T -ALL which comprised 4 patients, 2 males and 2 females, all of them of L, group with age ranged from 1.5 to 23. |
