Abstract

This work aimed to determine DNA ploidy and S-phase fraction in
acute lymphoblastic leukemia using flow cytometry, also correlation
between these parameters was interpreted with F AB classification,
immunophenotyping, response to chemotherapy and other important
prognostic factors.
The study was done on twenty patients with de novo ALL. They
were classified according to F AB classification into LI, which comprised
10 patients, 8 males and 2 females with age ranged from 2 to 16 years, L2
which comprised 7 patients, 2 males and 5 females with age ranged from
1.5 to 23 years and L3, which comprised 3 patients all of them males with
age ranged from 1 to 43 years.
The patients also classified into four groups according to
immunophenotyping, common ALL, which comprised 10 patients, 8 males
and 2 females with age ranged from 2 to 16 of LI, pre B-ALL, which
comprised 3 females with age ranged from 18 to 21 of L2, B-ALL which
comprised 3 patients, all of them males and of’L, with age ranged between
1 to 43 years and T -ALL which comprised 4 patients, 2 males and 2
females, all of them of L, group with age ranged from 1.5 to 23.
