Abstract
The origin of AL-Fayoum depression is due to tectonic movement then weather processes take place after tectonic movement to form AL-Fayoum depression. We can indicate that from the appearance of basalt sheet in area and presence of faults , cracks and joints. The main components of area are limestone, gypsum, marl, silt, gravels, sand and sand stone, which indicates to the tectonic and weathering origin. In other hand, if weathering is the main origin of Al-Fayoum depression, all area will deeped by erosion.
